The weather continues to kerb my attempts to complete the PADI Open Water Course for my students. When I need the calm weather it often seems to be blowing.

Dive sites around this area do not lend themselves to windy conditions and the only spots out of the wind are not very interesting as far as topography. But they might suit doing a PADI Specialty such as Underwater Navigator or Search and Recovery. At least that way we can get some dives in and improve skills and confidence.

Disappointment for a number of divers who had hoped to get 3 days of diving in over the Queens Birthday weekend in June. Numbers were below what is needed to get the trip away. So we'll have to arrange dates for later in the year for a 2 day trip.

Let's keep these trips on our calendar to the beautiful reefs around Gladstone. We have access to worldclass diving on our doorstep and should not let these opportunities pass by.

Stay wet and safe diving
